The #1 Question from Red-Pilled Physicians

How do I get more patients?

– every Doctor in America who is either struggling or considering going independent

This seems like a simple question. But, when considered through the lens of human decision-making, it becomes much more complex.

It’s important because, if a doctor doesn’t have patients, that doctor doesn’t get paid, and that doctor and their family do not eat.

And, whether you are a physician who has red-pilled themselves, or are considering the red pill, this is one of the most important questions you can be asking yourself.

The simple way to answer this question is “through relationships.”

Relationships with your current patients.

Relationships through civic and religious organizations.

Relationships with other doctors.

However, this only works when you know who you are and what you do. And, more than ever before, patients want to know why you do what you do.

But, these types of questions should not be answered through the conventional ways,

“I have X speciality, I trained at Prestigous Hospital and University, and I want to help people.”

Frankly, less than 1% of the potential patients you may encounter care about those issues. This question is actually answered in our book Overcoming the Obstacles Keeping Physicians from Achieving Business Success. In this book, we discuss 15 obstacles that Physicians must overcome in order to be successful in business.

In regard to this specific question, “How do I get more patients?”, we deal with this in Obstacle #3: Not understanding, knowing, or using your Core Story.

Developing and using a Core Story should be one of the cornerstones to your business.

The Core Story is more than an “elevator pitch.” It includes your vision, your mission, and tells of your origin.

Simple put, it is who you are, what you’ve done, and why you’re doing what you’re doing, but in a story form.

As a physician-business owner, you have stories to tell. Patients (and for that matter, other doctors) don’t buy from you because of your skills. Well, that’s part of it. But they don’t care about your skills until they know you care about them personally.

Your core story is your epic journey. And, today more than every before, people want to know why you do what you do just as much as what you do.

Most physician-business owners hate the idea of being a “salesperson.”

Develop a Core Story that tells of your epic journey and how it aligns with your ideal patient’s epic journey, tell the story to enough people, and you’ll have all the patients you need.

And with a Core Story, you’ll never feel like a salesperson.
